¡Special thanks to Miami-Dade County, Art in Public Places Program!

The series of sculptural projects for public spaces that I am working on recently is based on the poetic, symbolic and anthropomorphic representation of animals and objects, which have been important in my previous work, such as the running rabbit, the birds, the flies, the hourglass, and the books among others. Those elements are used to denote human attitudes of complicity or conflict in relation to nature. For this I use a combination of rigid and cold materials such as metal, aluminum or iron, and other lighter and more transparent such as openwork and engraved glass and methacrylate. Working with engraving and openings on these materials allows me to give great importance to the drawing that casts the shadow of the sculpture, which becomes a fundamental part of the project due to its dynamics and ability to transform according to the time of day, the season and the interaction of the public.
